Character Motivation: Estinien is ever a man bound by his sense of duty, and saving his planet would definitely fall under that. Of course he'd need to be lied to a little bit about what exactly the details are that he's doing, but he would certainly agree to assist in saving his world.
VOLUNTEER PROFILE
Name: Estinien Wyrmblood
Age: 32
Physical Appearance: Here
Point in Timeline: End of 4.0, after finishing off Nidhogg's eyes for good.
World Description: Here
History/Background: Here 3x combo
Noteworthy Positive Characteristics:
1) Loyal
2) Competent
3) Determined
4) Sentimental
5) Level-headed
Noteworthy Negative Characteristics:
1) Stubborn
2) Aggressive
3) Anti-social
4) Luddite
5) Insensitive
Powers/Abilities:
He can do all dragoon skills up to 70.
Beyond that, Estinien has been fused with Nidhogg, and as such he's seemingly gained far more power than what the average dragoon is capable of. An example of this is how he destroyed a canon that was enormous (like the size of a skyscraper) with a single blow of his lance. He basically dropped down like a draconic aether bomb on the thing. His aether seems to be influenced greatly by Nidhogg's, which in turned enhanced his abilities as a dragoon.
Before his Nidhogg possession in 3.0, but after the momentary one in the dragoon storyline in 2.0, it was stated that half his blood was dragon's blood, which made him more receptive to the powers granted by the eye of Nidhogg. He's able to sense dragons and their emotions far greater now that he's been so thoroughly fused with Nidhogg, bringing the question of just how much of him is dragon now? Since their minds were one, he has access to a lot of the ancient wyrm's memories as well.
Estinien also has incredible will, and was able to stave off the influence of Nidhogg for years. It took a moment of him dropping his guard for the ancient wyrm to possess him, and that alone bespeaks his willpower.
Character Fears:
Estinien fears losing control more than anything. As Azure Dragoon he had to maintain emotional control over himself, or Nidhogg might possess him. Despite his efforts, and how he staved off Nidhogg for literally years, he eventually did lose control and Nidhogg possessed him. A failure that nearly lead to the end of Ishgard.
he also fears losing those he cares for and regards as family—as most do. He has lost his family once, and he will fight tooth and nail (fang and claw?) so that never happens again.
Personal Item: He will only be bringing the clothes on his back, his lance is unfortunately too big to bring.

VOLUNTEER PROFILE
Name: Estinien Wyrmblood
Age: 32
Physical Appearance: Here
Point in Timeline: End of 4.0, after finishing off Nidhogg's eyes for good.
World Description: Here
History/Background: Here 3x combo
Noteworthy Positive Characteristics:
1) Loyal
While hard to gain, Estinien's loyalty is as unwavering as a mountain. That is to say, he'd commit treason against his own nation than betray a friend—and he's done exactly that. Even when his best friend was doing a pretty stupid move of confronting the archbishop about the true origins of the Dragonsong War, Estinien did not hesitate to storm the church to ensure Aymeric's safe return. He was willing to kill fello Ishgardians and commit treason for his friend, and that alone should bespeak the depths of his loyalty.
2) Competent
Estinien is extremely competent. Whether it be in combat, or even piecing together information, he's rather sharp. He's extremely aware of his surroundings, and often times picks up on facts others might miss, or otherwise not realize. He was able to discern that Nidhogg's eye was not his own, but actually Hraesvelgrs very quickly, and Aymeric has made mention that his uncouth observations have served to save him countless times. It's also been noted that he learned some of the dragon's language—a feat that is incredibly difficult, even for some of the best scholars—before Nidhogg wore his body like a suit.
3) Determined
His determination is something to fear. When Estinien puts his mind on something, he will stop at nothing to achieve it. He spent 20 long years seeking his revenge against Nidhogg, and plowed through every obstacle in his way to achieve it. Going from orphan to soldier to Azure Dragoon, he quickly became the mightiest warrior Ishgard had. His discipline is absolute, as he rebuked anything that might get in his way of achieving his goal—socializing with others, a love life, even hobbies.
4) Sentimental
Estinien is extremely sentimental, even if his more crass and gruff exterior seems to imply otherwise. His whole reason for seeking vengeance is based around the fact that he lost his family, but most of all his little brother. When he cares for others, it's a deep and all consuming sort of bond that breeds a loyalty so strong that he would sacrifice his life for them without hesitation. It's rare that he forms such bonds, but family means a lot to him, and so do his friends, and so when he feels those emotional connections, he can be surprisingly sentimental. Not only in the revenge sense, but after the war, he went around leaving flowers and grieving for those lost to it. He's a man with a lot of emotions, but he does well to hide them behind a stoic and rough exterior.
5) Level-headed
He does well to stay level in high stress situations. While he might be a bit reckless at times, he is often quick to stifle others recklessness. When Aymeric wished to fight Nidhogg beside him and the Warrior of Light, it was Estinien who talked sense into him and his importance to Ishgard. When Alphinaud too wished to join, Estinien was able to convince him to stay. He's often able to see the correct course through things, even when things are dangerous or emotions are high. Not that he cannot fall to his own emotions, or make rash decisions, but when it comes to the rash decisions of others, he's often capable of keeping a level head and talk them towards the appropriate course of action.
Noteworthy Negative Characteristics:
1) Stubborn
He is incredibly stubborn, especially when he believes something fully. It took an entire pilgrimage, and seeing the ancient ruins of the time when Man and Dragon were allies to finally start believing it. Before that, he argued and insulted Ysayle for her beliefs and would not listen. When he is of an opinion, and there's not enough evidence to prove him wrong, no amount of talking to him can make him acquiesce. He needs definitive proof, but sure it be supplied, he will concede to the other side. Till then? Enjoy talking to a wall.
2) Aggressive
Estinien is far more aggressive than most. He is a soldier shaped by war and loss, and as such he's focused most of his life into becoming a weapon. A goal he did well to become, but as such his emotional maturity isn't the greatest, and as such he can meet people with anger and threats of violence when it might not be called for (he once threatened to gouge out the eye of a dragon because she dared to question why he had the eye of Nidhogg). Since the war's end, he has cooled it a bit, but he is still a fighter at heart, and there's still a great deal of anger in there. Should someone stoke the embers of his animosity, that ferocity will certainly surface once more.
3) Anti-social
Due to his trouble past, and his determination to become a dragon killing machine, he's not what one would describe as a social butterfly. He avoided most social interaction until he was 22 years old, and even then that was because Aymeric pursued him for friendship. Even after that, he didn't garner many other friends or close relationships beyond his adopted Father. Even invitations to Ishgardian social gatherings were ignored completely, and he has a bad habit of just disappearing without warning for days to weeks at a time. Even after forming a close bond with Alphinaud and the Warrior of Light, once the Dragonsong War was over, he left without a word to anyone. Estinien is not very good at being social, or keeping up with people in that capacity at all.
4) Luddite
Maybe in a world like Eorzea this isn't such a bad thing, but Estinien has an extreme dislike of machines, but especially those that can think. He does not trust them, nor does he like to rely on machines if he doesn't have to. This goes into his stubbornness, and he won't likely change his opinion any time soon.
5) Insensitive
While sentimental in his own way, Estinien can still be a bit of an ass. He can laugh at other people's sentimentality or worries, and even mock them for it. Even when called out, he doesn't apologize, and tends to find no reason to. He's also quick to make snide remarks about things, regardless of how it might make others feel. Estinien proves to be rather uncouth, and doesn't hugely regard how he might rub someone the wrong way, because such simple transgressions don't mean a lot to him. Even those he likes he can be this way with, and either they learn to deal with it and are rewarded quite the ally, or they don't.
